Dish It Out...
"Chief? Yeah, hey, uh - sorry to bother you at home like this but, see I've made a little - AHEM - adjustment to Live 13. It's the damndest thing, really. There we were pullin' out of the hood when this monster squirrel ran right out in front of God and everybody. I swear, I've never seen a rodent move like that, he was poppin' and lockin' and throwin' gang signs! Anyway, I was lookin' real hard at him when I noticed the nice folks we'd just interviewed in my sideview mirror. They were waving their hands and jumping up and down all crazy-like. Pfft, I figured they'd never seen a squirrel like that either. I asked Rex what he thought they were freakin' out about, but he was too busy texting his life-coach to be much help. That's when the most God-awful sound rang out! Sort of like a baseball bat to a microwave oven! I'm telling ya, it was SICK! Anyhoo, I slammed on the brakes, Rex about ate his Blackberry and I swear that squirrel flipped me off! So - uh, I climbed out of the live truck and looked up and sure enough the dish was all cock-eyed! Who knew a branch that size could do that kind of damage? I bet the engineers are gonna have to --- Hmm?
Well yeah, I guess my locker could use some cleaning out..."

Thought you had some sort of warning devices to prevent driving under low hanging objects...
We could always use a Field Producer/Writer at HPU, once we get our program running.
Stew, please tell me that this fiction isn't based on a true Triad newsgathering story.
Good thing you dont work for Nexstar, you would be expected to pay for the damages!
Stew, that picture is classic! The damndest things can happen to someone who thinks he's invincible and doesn't take the time to check that the dish is stowed before driving off! Does someone have a picture of the dish held together with the power cord?
Don: I CAN be bought. Kwall me.
Wes: There was an accident, I made up the part about the squirrel. No one's locker was cleaned out.
Anonymous 1 & 2: The young 'tog in question is still gainfully employed and a good more careful in heavily canopied neighborhoods. I debated posting this photo at all, but I'm a sucker for an image with a backstory. Let us not chide our juior colleage too much - lest we duck into a drive-thru and reduce the mast to a bloody stump.
You're right Stew, I shouldn't bash him too much cause Lord knows it could happen to any of us if we're not careful. Hopefully young Junior has learned his lesson.
I am sure Jr. will never do that again. The main thing, nobody got hurt. Lesson learned.
did I ever learn my lesson! 1) Dont forget to stow the dish. 2)Stow the dish before attempting for 10 minutes to find the truck driver who parked on your cables. 3)Dont think about your vacation that starts in 25 minutes before you finish wrapping up your cables. 4)Cry incesently, and hope your digital camera's battery dies before your reporter can snap you reminiscing on a awesome, but short lived career. 5) Did I stow???
